Former café singer Brisia Jodie’s star began its inevitable rise as she reached the latter stages of Indonesian Idol in 2017, entering the competition under her birth name Bianca Jodie. Her vocal poise and power secured a large fanbase that never left her even as she exited the show. That’s thanks to a string of releases with her versatile vocals front and centre, perfectly befitting her rising choruses that soar up from delicate instrumentation to orchestral-backed crescendos, as on “Seandainya” and the Arsy Widianto duet “Dengan Caraku”, which won the Best Pop Duo/Group category at the 2018 Anugerah Musik Indonesia awards.
