Punjabi singer-songwriter and rapper Arjan Dhillon is constantly evolving as he seemingly can’t stop experimenting with new sounds and styles at every turn. Chobar, however, is perhaps his most diverse record yet. On Dhillon’s fifth album since 2021, he teams up with producer Mxrci to create 14 tracks that range from glitzy Punjabi hip-hop (“Glorious”), club-friendly dance (“Hot Shit”) and banging house (“Suits You”) to Punjabi folk-meets-drum ’n’ bass (“Vigde”). There’s even a soulful ballad (“Kuz Saal”) and a groovy track, “Woah”, that features a Wild West vibe alongside flamenco guitars.
