Thin Lizzy: Next Steps
Apple Music
The punchy riff-anthems that made Thin Lizzy rock legends comprise just a sliver of their vision. They recorded plenty of blue-eyed soul inspired by Van Morrison's poetic romanticism (“Honesty Is No Excuse”) and mixed folk rock with Irish music's dancing melodies, as on “Róisín Dubh (Black Rose): A Rock Legend”. Their early-'80s jams, like “Genocide (The Killing of the Buffalo)”, embraced punk's political consciousness and angsty bite.
