Embracing the quirks that come with visual kei, in their earlier years SID frequently used a megaphone to advertise upcoming gigs rather than the more conventional flyers. This alternative vibe also seeped into the music they make: hard rock that takes its lead from glam and gothic. “S” is a case in point, as the theme to supernatural horror “Sadako” it thrives on feedback-drenched guitar solos. SID’s more poppy side, however, is expressed through the captivatingly bouncy and cartoonish “V.I.P” and “ANNIVERSARY”, both of which were—suitably—used as opening music for anime.
