Like Sister Nancy, Junie Ranks and Shelly Thunder before her, Patra brought an empowered female voice to the male-dominated dancehall scene. Fusing hip-hop and R&B with traditional dancehall, she roared into the reggae world in 1993 with her aptly titled debut LP Queen of the Pack. The project spawned multiple hits including "Romantic Call”, the video for which featured a cameo from Tupac Shakur. A gifted vocalist known for her multi-octave singing range, Patra's continued to release music into the '10s.
