As a teenager Lupillo Rivera worked for his father's record label, Cintas Acuario. It wasn't long before he decided to try out his skills in front of the mic, recording a debut album in '95. After signing with Sony Discos, "El Toro del Corrido" took his sound national with '01's Despreciado, which won two Billboard Latin Music Awards. The title track was a major radio hit and a Regional Mexican star was born.
