Founded in Portugal in 2001, Clean Feed Records was created to document and preserve great improvised music. Up-and-coming jazz players from New York like Tony Malaby quickly came on board, followed by European sensations like Christian Lillinger. Soon the label began hosting festivals all over the world and remains at the forefront of cutting-edge improvised music.
