The aptly named Armchair play a breezy brand of soft rock and retro pop. In 2001, the quartet of Bangkok students formerly known as Shakers released their debut album, Pastel Mood, which, like the band's subsequent recordings, draws upon acoustic bossa nova, mellow soul jazz, the yacht rock stylings of crooners like Michael McDonald and Steely Dan's midtempo fusion. Design, Spring and Tender followed in smooth succession, with the particularly slick Timeless arriving in 2013. As the titles suggest, Armchair's music will both soften and stylishly enhance any environment.
