About The Submarines
The Submarines were the indie pop duo of John Dragonetti (aka Jack Drag) and Blake Hazard, who initially crossed paths as solo artists in Boston. Dragonetti produced Hazard's solo debut, 2002's Little Airplane, and the pair became romantically involved. They broke up in 2005, but got back together after sharing songs inspired by the breakup. Dragonetti and Hazard then married and, calling themselves the Submarines, released the songs on Declare a New State! in 2006. After two more albums and placement in numerous TV series, commercials, and films, the couple split in the early 2010s. Though no official announcement addressed the fate of the Submarines, Hazard released her second solo LP in 2013, and Dragonetti shifted focus to his work as a film and television composer. ~ Marcy Donelson
