Swedish House Mafia are back with “Finally”—a stellar house anthem reimagined with an assist from R&B icon Alicia Keys. The trio has lifted a track originally popularised [in 2001] by Kings of Tomorrow (DJ/producers Sandy Rivera and Jason “Sinister” Sealee) with Julie McKnight on vocals. This pair-up—performed live on stage in September as part of Swedish House Mafia’s Ushuaïa Ibiza residency—takes the all-conquering club classic to a higher echelon. “We had the idea to remake the song, but we needed someone with the voice of an angel,” SHM’s Steve Angello tells Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “We happened to be in Miami at the same time Alicia was there celebrating her wedding anniversary. She came down [to the studio] with her husband [producer Swizz Beatz], and she laid the vocals on the day of her anniversary. Obviously, we are gentlemen, so we had flowers and champagne for both of them. It was a beautiful evening!” Listen to “Finally” now, and add this playlist to your library to stay up on the tracks roaring through clubs and festivals around the world—including songs from Barry Can't Swim, Duke Dumont and Sonny Fodera, Jazzy & D.O.D.
