Also affiliated with the Icelandic indie acts Seabear and Sin Fang, Sóley Stefánsdóttir performs delicate electronic pop on her own as Sóley. Inspired by Scandinavian acts such as Sigur Rós and Múm, she began making music in her teens, and studied piano and composition at the Icelandic Art Academy. During that time, she also played and sang with Seabear and Sin Fang. She then began work on her solo project, releasing her debut EP, Theater Island, in 2010. Gradually expanding arrangements over her first two LPs, she maintained a gray-toned atmosphere until her more whimsical third album, 2017's Endless Summer. ~ Heather Phares
