About Midland

Techno, house, and bass music, among many other strains of underground dance music, are all fair game for Harry Agius, the DJ and producer who goes by Midland. Despite an evolving set of interests, none of the artist's output -- all created with the intent to provoke an involuntary physical response -- has sounded like the result of mere dabbling. Agius' renown as both a DJ and producer truly coalesced in 2016. His wriggling and aching sample-based disco-funk single "Final Credits" was ubiquitous during that year's summer festival season, and his BBC Essential Mix, broadcast in February, was awarded Essential Mix of the Year. Fabriclive 94, Agius' subsequent commercial mix, strengthened his reputation in 2017. He has focused more on DJing since then, though he's remixed Dua Lipa's "Pretty Please," and has also issued the varied EPs The Alchemy of Circumstance (2022) and You Never Take Me Dancing (2023).
