About Daniel Grossmann

Conductor Daniel Grossmann is the founder, artistic director, and conductor of the Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich. He has also appeared as a guest conductor with both modern-instrument and historical-instrument ensembles. Grossmann formed the Daniel Grossmann Ensemble and made his recording debut with that group in 2005, releasing the album Through Roses. That year, Grossmann founded the Orchester Jakobsplatz München. For the 2018-2019 season, the group's name was changed to Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich. In 2012, Grossmann was awarded the Pro meritis scientiae et litterarum prize by the Bavarian Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts. Grossmann and the orchestra have issued albums of music by Iannis Xenakis and John Cage, and in 2022, he led the group in an album of works by Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn.
