About Computer Magic
Computer Magic is the spacy, sci-fi-influenced synth pop project of Danielle "Danz" Johnson. The Catskills native began collecting vinyl at age 14 and started a music blog a year later. By the time she was 18, she was DJ'ing while studying at Hunter College in New York City. Johnson moved to Florida, began making music with production software, and after a few free EPs recorded the Electronic Fences EP (2011) for White Iris. The following year, the Orion EP arrived on Kitsuné, which led to a Japanese compilation via Tugboat. She became so popular in Japan that she made several albums just for her fans there. Johnson launched Channel 9 Records, which released the albums Davos (2015) and DANZ (2018), along with additional EPs. ~ Heather Phares
