Bishop Reilly is a collaboration between roots rock songwriters Jeff Bishop and Robert Reilly. Longtime friends and veterans of the East Coast rock club scene of the '90s and 2000s, the two first met in Pennsylvania when their respective bands (Earth to Bob and 78 West) were booked together on the same bill. Over the years they continued to cross each other's paths, and as their friendship grew so did their mutual respect. As Bishop's band Earth to Bob was winding down, Reilly invited him to play guitar on his first couple of solo albums. As they gradually came to lean on one another's talents, their partnership grew into something more co-dependent and they formed the duo Bishop Reilly. With Bishop occupying the role of producer/instrumentalist to Reilly's singer/songwriter, they crafted their self-titled debut, which was released on their own Eastern Records label in 2015. A warm mix of heartfelt Americana and roots folk, the songs are anchored by Reilly's soulful vocals and the duo's strong sense of studio and songcraft. ~ Timothy Monger
