The Other

A German horror-punk institution that originally began as a Misfits cover band, the Other were founded in 2002 by vocalist Rod Usher and drummer Dr. Caligari. Inspired by classic horror literature and films, the Other began releasing albums via their own Fiend Force Records label in 2004 -- they also issued LPs by other like-minded artists such as Blitzkid, Mister Monster, Nim Vind, and the Deep Eynde. They moved to Steamhammer for their fifth studio long-player, 2009's New Blood, and stayed with the label through 2012's The Devil You Know and 2015's Fear Itself. Casket Case, the band's fifth full-length and first to be released via Drakkar Records, arrived in 2017. ~ James Christopher Monger
