This 2012 remix album explores alternate universes lurking in the folds of Mogwai’s 2011 album Hardcore Will Never Die, but You Will. Klad Hest (Beak>>’s Matt Loveridge) turns the crushing “Rano Pano” into a skittering drill ’n’ bass free-for-all, while Cylob flips “White Noise” into his characteristically bright-eyed electro-pop, complete with computerised vocals. It’s Main’s Robert Hampson who channels the band’s ambient spirit, sculpting guitars into shimmering waves of uplifting tone—nearly 14 glorious minutes’ worth.
