Romulo Caicedo

About Romulo Caicedo

With his sweet, romantic vocals set to the melodic interplay of accordion, clarinet, and brass section and the rhythms of maracas, bongos, clave, tumba, and cymbals, Romulo Caicedo helped to introduce the Caribbean-influenced cumbia to the international stage. Having launched his career as a former member of Les Tres Jotas (the Three Jays) in the late '40s, Caicedo continues to maintain a ceaseless schedule on his own. ~ Craig Harris
