With the introduction of computers and new electronic equipment, a whole new world of sonic possibilities emerged. The combination of traditional instrumentation with new synthetic sounds created new genres pioneered by visionaries like Raymond Scott and Jean-Jacques Perrey, while bands like Stereolab took this template to form what is now known as post-rock.
