The soundtrack to Outkast’s musical film of the same name, Idlewild finds the duo still showing their broad lyrical and sonic range. “Idlewild Blue” is a collision of blues guitar and harmonica with André 3000's smooth vocals; “PJ & Rooster” is a popping piano jingle straight out of a juke joint, with André and Big Boi trading swaggering verses about wealth and women. “The Train” has a horn section spun through the chorus, keeping the album’s retro feel alive.
