An art-music explorer inspired by the literary avant-garde, Babx—aka David Babin—has been exploring the intersections of art, poetry, pop and technology since the early ‘00s. He used the ill-fated Titanic's musicians to evoke the early 20th century on Cristal Ballroom, then returned to the present on Drones Personnels, a Laurie Anderson-like mixture of human and machine-based sounds. In 2015, Babx affirmed his faith in poetry by setting the words of Baudelaire, Kerouac, Tom Waits and more to music on Cristal Automatique 1.
