About Quatuor Hanson

France's Quatuor Hanson has specialized in Haydn's string quartets but has branched out into Romantic and contemporary music. Its recordings are notably diverse, and it has attracted funding from major French chamber music patrons. With some of the biggest names in European chamber music behind its formation, the Quatuor Hanson has sought to bring fresh interpretations to the well-known music of Haydn. The Quatuor Hanson was formed in Paris in 2013. The quartet's members from its inception have been violinist Anton Hanson (for whom it is named) and Jules Dussap, violist Gabrielle Lafait, and cellist Simon Dechambre. It has worked with a variety of collaborators, including pianist Adam Laloum, with which it recorded Schumann's Piano Quintet in E flat major, Op. 47, in 2024.
