In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first song we wrote is called "Break & Fall". I have a vivid memory of the first time Gerry played me the main piano riff he wrote...he met me at my front door and played it over his phone. That night I wrote the lyrics...the rest is history. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Coldplay, Parachutes MUTEMATH, MuteMath Tame Impala, Currents When we first met, we totally geeked out over MuteMath (they aren't well known where we're from). This album of theirs became the soundtrack to our earliest mutual memories. Parachutes is iconic! Currents was on repeat while we recorded our debut EP. Tell us why you chose this song. “Aeroplane Park (Instrumental)” We wrote 'Aeroplane Park' as an homage to our upbringing in the suburbs of Cape Town. Across the road from the house where I grew up, is a park with an aeroplane-shaped jungle gym where countless memories were created. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The first time we went to Abbey Road Studios. We won the Avid & Abbey Road Studios International Song Contest with our song "Break & Fall", which gave us the chance to attend the studios for the mastering of the song, as well as our debut EP Bloom. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Winning a Grammy wouldn't be so bad...even just getting nominated. Performing at Glastonbury, Coachella or Lollapalooza would be pretty nice. Honestly, as long as we can keep releasing music, we'll be happy.
