In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest music-related memory is being both scared and intrigued by Vincent Price's spoken-word sequence at the end of Michael Jackson's "Thriller." My parents owned a cassette tape of the Thriller album and it was playing from the living room. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Horace Andy, Skylarking Talking Heads, Remain In Light The Detroit Escalator Co., Black Buildings Remain In Light perfectly balances rhythm & melody, organic instrumentation & electronics, spoken-word & song. Skylarking is music driven by soul and feeling. Black Buildings is a flawless ambient album which can be listened to passively or actively. My co-producer Filip and I experimented with the vocal effects chain so that the effect could be performed rather than applied in post. It's also one of the rare tracks in which my voice makes an appearance. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The time I was a resident at my weekly party, Heat-Wave, in LA. It was the most fulfilled I've felt as a DJ/artist. I got to express myself as a DJ and test out original material to a room of very receptive regular attendees. The party ran 2016-2019. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I just want to continue to make tunes and occasionally collaborate with friends and artists I respect. If people hear the songs and like them, that's a bonus!
