About Mesh
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Founded in 1991, we had one of our first gigs was at the Mauritania in Bristol in March 1992. Playing our early synth-driven material live for the first time confirmed we were onto something and marked the real beginning of Mesh. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Craig Armstrong, It's Nearly Tomorrow Depeche Mode, Songs of Faith and Devotion Yazoo, Upstairs at Eric’s Upstairs at Eric’s by Yazoo made me buy my first synthesiser. Songs of Faith and Devotion by Depeche Mode showed how a band can evolve and peak creatively. It’s Nearly Tomorrow by Craig Armstrong inspired our cinematic side. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Exile (Single Edit)” “Exile” is special as it marked our return to recording after nearly ten years. It became the first release from our ninth album and its reception exceeded our expectations, confirming there was still strong connection with our audience. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Performing the Gothic Meets Klassik orchestral show at the Neues Gewandhaus in Leipzig in 2015 was unforgettable. Hearing our music reimagined with a full orchestra felt like a milestone in our long live career. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We’d love to enter the UK charts and continue reaching a wider audience, while still touring across Europe and releasing new music that reflects how we’ve grown since forming in the early 1990s.
