The Lost Fingers take their name from the accident that befell Django Reinhardt when he was just 18, which should offer a hint at this Quebec group's aesthetic: slick playing, delivered with a sly grin. Their reworkings of popular contemporary songs into well-manicured slices of jazz manouche (French for “gypsy jazz”) reveal their conservatory roots, and the 2014 addition of vocalist Valérie Amyot, who competed on Quebec's La Voix, turns up the heat on their simmering blend of the old and the new.
