Andrey Leonidovich Shirman caught the wave of ’90s and early ’00s trance that captured the hearts and sound systems of Eastern Europe. As a teenager he learned his trade as a DJ and sound engineer before becoming a resident at one of Moscow’s largest clubs, Shambala, and establishing himself as an electronic tour de force. His iconic trance hit “Moscow Never Sleeps” topped the Russian charts, while the plaintive synths and symphonic bass drop of “The Night Is Young” and the shuffling melody of “Zvonok” both demonstrate his aptitude for euphoric EDM set closers.
