Pierre Lapointe Essentials

A raconteur whose writing is coloured by an intangible melancholy, Pierre Lapointe is one of Québec's contemporary critical darlings—he's won over a dozen Félix Awards—and a regular presence near the top of the Canadian album charts. A winner at the Granby International Song Festival in 2001, Lapointe first struck gold with his 2006 album La forêt des mal-aimés, and was nominated for the Polaris Prize for his stylistically broad, typically dark 2013 album Punkt. It's not too late to get caught up on the work on one of Canada's smartest, most dramatic songwriters.
