Kaïn have made themselves a household name by singing simple songs about everyday life. The band became famous seemingly overnight following the massive success of their 2004 debut album, Pop culture, and its followup, Nulle part ailleurs. Led by singer/songwriter Steve Veilleux, Kaïn's guitar-based tales focus on the value of friendship, family, and true love. The band continued their earnest streak on Les saisons s'tassent, Le vrai monde, and Pleurer pour rire.
