Diane Tell was still a teen when her first album came out in 1977, but her sound was sophisticated beyond her years. Trained in classical and jazz, the Québécois wunderkind brought a dazzling degree of sophistication to her songs. By the early ‘80s she was a star, breaking ground as one of Quebec's first major female pop singer/songwriters. After moving to France, she collaborated with some of the country's best composers, but Tell's knack for flavouring her sleek, subtle style with everything from jazz and Brazilian music to R&B and disco has made her a singular voice in French-language music.
