After his Ambient series, Brian Eno pushed the boundaries of his non-pop practice. His collaboration with David Byrne contains sampled vocals while remaining a zone for vibrant rhythmic textures, and he drew from classical minimalism with The Pearl, his collaboration with pianist Harold Budd. Industrial noise and feverish dance beats also fired up Eno's ambient soul.
