Back to the Future: The ‘90s

By the late 2000s, the ‘90s revival was in full swing in both pop and underground. Rock bands like Silversun Pickups and The Joy Formidable looked back to their alternative rock heroes, indie groups like Yuck and Speedy Ortiz fed off of lo-fi and grunge, and Kendrick Lamar and Curren$y paid homage to hip-hop trends from both coasts.
