About Despised Icon
Montreal-based Despised Icon bring precision and fury to their hyper-technical deathcore. Uniquely contrasting dual vocalists and flawless blastbeat drumming were two defining elements that made the band stand out on albums like 2009's excellent Day of Mourning. Following a hiatus to focus on family, they returned with Beast in 2016. It hit a career-high number two on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. The reunion continued with releases including 2019's Purgatory and 2025's Shadow Work.
