Christian Reif

About Christian Reif

Conductor Christian Reif has led major orchestras in Europe and in the U.S., where he was partly trained. Reif earned a master's degree at the Juilliard School, where he met soprano Julia Bullock; the two later married. In 2011, Reif made his recording debut as a pianist, backing flutist Daniela Koch on her album My Magic Flute. Reif spent three years there as resident conductor for the San Francisco Symphony. In 2022, he backed Bullock on piano on the album Walking in the Dark. Reif was named the chief conductor of the Gävle Symphony Orchestra in 2023.
