TwoSet Violin

The Australian duo TwoSet Violin bring levity to classical music. Violinists Brett Yang and Eddy Chen maintain a comedic online video presence that blends absurdist humour with clever spoofs, skits and commentary informed by their musical background and genres like rap and hip-hop. The pair became fast friends while studying at Brisbane’s Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and carved out unique paths before teaming up as TwoSet Violin; Yang worked with various Australian orchestras while Chen was a finalist for Queensland’s 2014 National Young Virtuoso Award. Outside of video, the pair apply their backgrounds in performing to audio compositions, creating inventive instrumental pieces that touch on nonclassical genres and, in 2022, the nimble, springlike Fantasia EP.
