Zig Zags

About Zig Zags

A Los Angeles trio whose sound is a scuzzy fusion of punk, metal, and stoner rock, the Zig Zags released a pair of digital singles on their own, then issued a vinyl 7", "Monster Wizard," on Tubesteak Tuesday. Four other singles for noted indie imprints followed between 2012 and 2014. The Zig Zags collaborated with Iggy Pop for a special single -- a cover of Bette Davis' "If I'm in Luck I Might Get Picked Up" -- to honor Light in the Attic Records. Burger Records put out a cassette-only collection of rare and unreleased recordings titled 10-12. In 2013, the band cut its self-titled full-length at friend Ty Segall's studio; the album was released by In the Red in 2014. ~ Mark Deming
