Not even two months after dropping the wholly romantic Flores EP, regional Mexican rising stars Marca MP return with a third volume in their Las Preferidas series. In line with the prior instalments, the group present live takes on songs written or popularised by notable acts including Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga, Los Cadetes de Linares and Los Canelos de Durango. Among the fan favourites selected here, they give norteño icon Ramón Ayala’s existential “Entierrenme Cantando” a suitably sombre treatment, while imbuing his “Que Casualidad” with some necessary mirth.
