Flemish Belgian band The Scabs started in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s as a punk-rock outfit, with an edgy, angular sound leaning towards UK post-punk. Their late ‘80s material shifted down a gear on tracks like “Halfway Home” and “Crystal Eyes”, where they embraced warm-guitared, gentle jangle-pop. But they struck even bigger in the early ‘90s with uptempo rock ‘n' roll, producing hits like “Robbin the Liquor Store” and “Hard Times”. The Scabs are still releasing material—in English as always—and touring to this day.
