Even on their album cuts, Status Quo never lose their driving power, their blues-laced boogie rock fuelling barnstorming, genre-crossing covers (Bob Seger's “Old Time Rock and Roll”, the Beach Boys' “Fun, Fun, Fun”) and originals. “Little Lady” perfectly showcases their relentless technical precision, while “Softer Ride” is pure blues-pop joy and “Caroline” features a sublimely simple guitar hook.
