Absynthe Minded began as the solo project of lead vocalist Bert Ostyn but soon metamorphosed into a fully fledged band. Working as a collective suits the experimental Belgian rock outfit; the addition of four additional members on violin, piano, bass and drums meant the number of musical influences grew to meet their lofty ambitions. Strains of ‘30s jazz, funk, soul and even Merseyside pop are woven through the group's musical DNA, but more importantly, there's an effortless transition between the varied genres—the hallmark of a bona fide prog act.
