About Emma Tring

British soprano Emma Tring, a longtime member of the BBC Singers, focuses on contemporary music in her solo work. She is also a member of several other ensembles, each with its own distinctive musical emphasis. Tring launched her solo career with a production of Bizet's Carmen that toured five-star hotels in Thailand. Back in Britain, she joined the BBC Singers in 2008; she remained a member of that group as of the mid-2020s. With the BBC Singers, Tring made her recording debut in 2010 on the album Music of Elliott Carter, Vol. 8. Tring appeared on several major recordings, including one of Gabriel Jackson's The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ with the Choir of Merton College, Oxford, in 2019. In 2024, she was heard on the Verlaine Songs of John Pickard, a work composed with her voice in mind.
