The Kentucky-born vocalist known as Showing Teeth quickly became a social media star by doing Whitechapel and Underoath covers in her car. In less than two years, she was performing live alongside metalcore stars Beartooth and Bring Me the Horizon. Now she’s debuting on a major label. Joined by guitarist Zach Munowitz, Periphery drummer Matt Halpern and producer Zakk Cervini (YUNGBLUD, Poppy, blink-182) on A Fate Worse Than Loneliness, Showing Teeth brandishes her vocal chops like a weapon on opener “Bad Exchanges” before going fully feral—and fully angelic—on “Labyrinth”. Modern pop fuses with a heavy groove on “Make It Out” before she tears the throat out of the mathy deathcore crusher “Rip” and closes with the piano-driven power ballad “Paradigm”.
