Undervud Essentials

Vladimir Tkachenko and Maxim Kucherenko's paths first crossed in 1995 in Crimea, but it wasn't until the beginning of the ‘00s in Moscow that they released their debut as the mighty Undervud. More than two decades, multiple albums and a handful of poetry collections later, the quintet have established their flair for paradoxical literary tales, rock-oriented melodies shot through with dashes of jazz and funk, and playful nods to modern chanson. Their recordings continue the electric self-exploration, as the bandmates ponder the freedom and loneliness of a life without roots.
