NU'EST were one of the first K-pop groups to integrate dubstep into their stormy, melodic electro-pop. The Skrillex-level drops and whomps of their early singles anticipated what would become a regular part of the K-pop sound for the next few years. But NU'EST weren't just riding a trend: echoes of dubstep still appear in their later tracks, alongside melancholic R&B and more upbeat pop sounds, as well as a few soft, sweet ballads for good measure.
