Editors' Notes Models formed in Melbourne's post-punk underground in the late '70s. Their early sound was molded around keyboardist Andrew Duffield's innovative synthesiser concoctions—the perfect backdrop to frontman Sean Kelly's scatological lyrics and warped guitar stylings. But after a few albums, Models recast themselves as masters of big pop-rock productions. Under the influence of bassist James Freud's more commercial leanings, 1985's breakthrough Out of Mind, Out of Sight saw them briefly battling INXS and Midnight Oil at the top of the local albums and singles charts.
