Released at the end of 1965, Rubber Soul marked the start of The Beatles' most creative period. Incorporating the new folk-rock sound along with hints of R&B, country and even Indian classical music, it was the mop tops' most ambitious LP so far. It's remained a touchstone for artists from ABBA and Fleetwood Mac to Big Star and Guided By Voices.
