Best of Ragga

Ragga—derived from the Jamaican slang term "ragamuffin"—got its start in the ‘80s when synths and samplers made it to Jamaica, providing a more cost-effective way to make music than using a band. To some, ragga is synonymous with dancehall, but the electronic, minimalist ragga sound is a style all its own and one of the most important subgenres in modern reggae, particularly for its influence on hip hop.
