About Adam Harvey

The pride of Geelong, Australia (where he was born in 1974), Adam Harvey has been everywhere. He was a truck driver before he became a country music star, and on records he comes across as an easygoing guy at home wherever his wheels may take him. Harvey gained traction in the '90s but frequently harks back to the breezy style of '70s pop-country, applying his conversational midrange voice to gently twanging singer/songwriter fare. Collaborations with Tanya Self on 1998’s "Drive Away" and Beccy Cole on 2001's "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind" turned up the spotlight. In 2018, he made his first recording in America, backed by Music City veterans, shaping The Nashville Tapes as a tribute to the genre he dreams of as much as inhabits. In 2021, Harvey released Songs from Highway One, postcards from a road trip across Australia that manage to look back over his life while peering through a bug-dotted windshield.
