The Nashville Tapes

The Nashville Tapes

For his 10th studio album, veteran Australian country star Adam Harvey flew to Nashville to sing in the shadows of his idols, like Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. Along with producer Nash Chambers, he reserved Sound Emporium’s legendary Studio A and compiled a collection of classic songs that nod to Music City in the ’70s. Mickey Raphael, one of Willie Nelson’s go-to harmonica players, lights up the anthemic opener “Less of a Thinking Man”, and, elsewhere, Harvey breathes new life into heyday hits like Ricky Nelson’s “Never Be Anyone Else But You” and Slim Dusty and Stan Coster’s old railway anthem “Three Rivers Hotel”.
