About Chuy Lizárraga y Su Banda Tierra Sinaloense
Singer Chuy Lizárraga fell in love with music while working at a Mazatlán nightclub, and he dedicated himself to performing when he placed fourth in a competition at the very same venue. ∙ Before striking out on his own, he sang with Banda Aramburos, La Original Banda El Limón de Salvador Lizárraga, and Banda San José de Mesillas. ∙ After years of being featured in other musicians’ projects, Lizárraga founded his own group, Chuy Lizárraga y Su Banda Tierra Sinaloense, in 2004. ∙ Already a regional success in Mexico and the US, he landed his first international hit in 2010 with “La Peinada (La Peinadita),” a single from the 2009 album Tu Regalo. ∙ “La Mosca,” a 2012 collaboration with Los Horóscopos de Durango, spent 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. ∙ Lizárraga has been nominated for multiple Lo Nuestro Awards, including a 2014 nod for Regional Mexican Male Artist of the Year. ∙ In 2015, he was awarded a star on Mazatlán’s Paseo de las Estrellas.
